The park
This is probably the smallest park I will be writing about. We discovered it when we were taking a class far up in Rawdon and got there way too early for our own good. Having noticed the Chutes (Waterfall) sign, we were too tempted to follow up.
We never were able to check out the beach (notice winter official hike) but the water falls are beautiful, regardless of the season. It’s a short hike (3km) by the falls and the river. Simply beautiful!
There is a piknik area as well as a place to throw out BBQ soot.
The eerie legend
When at the viewpoint of the picture above, don’t forget to look for the woman’s face in the mountains rock. Impossible to photograph due to the splashing water but clear as day once you find it.
Her face is inspiration (or the other way around) for this legend of love, sorcerers and, of course, hiking (ok maybe not our modern hiking by definition).

Happy Hiking!
