We did this one as our easter hike, aka the first hike of the year in the mud and slushy snow. It’s a park in the middle of Saint-Gabriel de Brandon.
The walking trail is 6km long but there are also ski trails that loop around. meaning that you can run around in the mud for a while.
There are a couple of decent views of the region but this is mainly a walk in the woods. It’s pretty easy going. The main trail walks along the “majestic dunes” of the mine. You’re also walking along a bunch of man made hills.
There are two refuges for the skiers in the winter with a wood stove and backhouse.
When we did this one, we were at a chalet 6 minutes away. Needless to say that for the effort it took to get there, which is not a lot, it was worth it.
Happy Hiking
