What to bring on a short to medium hike

Here is a list of stuff to bring on your hiking trip.
Use your judgement as to what is necessary depending on what kind of trail you want to take.
Not to be used as a reference for hikes more than 3 days long.
Hiking General
  • Passports & ID
  • Walking Sticks
  • Rain Ponchos
  • Mini Sweat Towel
  • Camera
  • Camel-Back or Hiking bag
  • Dry Bag
  • Bio-degradable dish soap (do you really need soap to wash your dishes, think about it)
  • Garbage Bags (not for safety – to put your trash in – respect the woods, don’t litter)

 

Safety Always have these handy
  • First aid kit
  • Sun Protection (Sunglasses, Sun lotion, hat, etc.)
  • Security Blanket
  • Compass
  • Whistle (for bears)
  • Map of the area
  • Knife
  • Lighter & Waterproof Matches (in waterproof container)
  • Toilet Paper
  • Cord
  • Head-Light with good battery (for eternal sunshine)
  • Extra batteries (for head-light)

Clothes Always bring extra

  • Socks (not any socks, preferably “Dry fit”)
  • Sports T-Shirt
  • Sports Pants
  • Hat or bandana
  • Pyjamas
  • Warm Shirt
  • Underwear
  • Hiking Boots
Toiletries
  • Mouth Wash
  • Pain Killers
  • After-burn
  • Muscle Soothing Cream
  • Hydrating Cream
  • Natural Bug repellent
Camping
  • Sleeping Bags
  • Tent/ Hammock
  • Contact Lens Liquid & container
  • Glasses
  • Candle Lamp
  • Inflatable Mattress
  • Burner & tank
  • Casseroles
  • Utensils
  • Plastic re-sealable bags
  • Re-usable camping Sink
  • Plates
  • Camping Compact Cushions
  • Bache

  • Re-usable coffee filter (there are some made for camping that you pin to the cup)
